2009 moving into Gear,..

Right then, major moves in the sky at present point toward the meat of the years issues kicking off. I was waiting to see what the moves in the sky would bring, trying to be optimistic. The major impetus is regards finances and leaders as we have seen since 2007. The old Bob Mugabe trend we followed from inception of this article. Well has it improved at all, for all the diplomacy, not much seems to have changed there really, if not now that we are moving ahead with the same old there. Just to back me up here and ram my point home as I continue with my warnings. Note GM, at one point the largest corporation in the USA with operations in 32 countries worldwide. Files for bankruptcy within a week of Saturn's direct actions in the sky.

This Saturn in Virgo, as he turns to direct once more, he will bring the cash strapped issue back to the fore. At first I thought the move would bring the cash back onto the table allowing projects to step up a beat. So much for attempting at the optimistic.
The same old at this point in time and space being, principally, 'We don't have enough in the bank to complete your request'. So much for optimism folks, take care with your funds through the rest of the year, this ride is going to get rocky! You think by any means that this is just another year, really, think again. This period now 2007 through present will be in the history books for our children to read of, mark my words. So again, if you think there is a shard of light coming through the door, why do I have to keep repeating myself. Take care of the cash you do have, stop spending! I can't exclaim this point further. Your salary may not be as secure as you assume. In fact never assume anything, the only constant being change, this period will test that to the maximum. Much of this financial activity will kick further into gear by 19/20th June, so really prepare for a short salary check, month end June.

All of this is leading to more rules and regulations. Saturn moves into Libra later in the year and Libra equals 'Laws'. Saturn in Libra classically bringing more maturity into our relationships, otherwise simply restrictions in the relating/contractual process. Our new Consumer protection bill will surely evince this here in South Africa.

By August 2009 we will see the effects of this months wave in a grand wholesale fashion. Prepare for some changes to the regular routine in the workplace. Prepare for financial implosion if GM's dearth is anything to go by. With initiative you will be able to plan ahead now and assert your role in the new regulating procedures. Rule no.1 at this time, pride into the pocket, see the next few years through and you can start to exercise your own volition again once we are out the other end of this tunnel. If you think you can get clever here, odds are there will be more regulation coming down on you.

Back to the regular we have the crabby patch in the sky we have been tracking over the last few months. Monday, Tuesday 8/9th June so take it easy there if you can.
On the whole, moms seem deflated and depressed with the social circumstances about, much gossip here will add to this and should be discouraged. Dads are obviously in a financially tight spot and could be well irritable regards. Coffee is to be avoided in such instances.
The kids have gone through a recent swing from being wildly active to settling down a little to practical tasks, a good time for projects as they will be more 'building' oriented this month. A great time for gardening activities with both the boys and girls. If anything, as their funds tighten as well, practice conservative sorts of activities. Building from scraps as opposed to buying new.

Mercury, the winged messenger,..

Quite apt that our feature on mercury would come up over a Mercury retrograde period. Previously already we have looked at the primary radiator, the Sun and the primary reflector, the Moon. Our archetypal Father and Mother, Gold and Silver. Mercury in all it's simplicity represents the contrast between these two and is hence androgynous in character.

So hence we come to the primary negotiator, arranger, mediator, teacher. Mercury, the winged messenger, the merchant, the physician the regular traveler in centuries gone by. If you look around modern society you will still find mercuries logos of many of these fields. The wings on the counter to counter delivery agents, the dual serpents outside the physicians door. The very name Mercedes in fact, as in benz, has its roots here too then?, with the tri-star logo reflecting Mercuries three retrograde loops a year.

Mercury’s natures can readily be seen in Gemini's, Virgoans and Aquarians as the recognition of shapes, colors, sizes, smells, textures, are high in the list of their abilities. Hence we have it that Gemini and Virgo are the librarians of the zodiac, the feature of distinction in our daily lives. The balances and measures of the merchant and apothecary of old.

Mercury then elaborates further as borders and neighbors, siblings and peer groups. Differing cultures and then sects and castes within those cultures.

So in understanding Mercurial concepts and types know that it is more about the exchange medium in life, the conduit to actual experiences. A pretty interesting concept, if Venus represented the value in money and Mercury simply the facility for exchange/trade inherent in such money.

So now, Mercury, being so vocal, you can see how even if the merchant does not have the valuable goods, s/he can still use contrasting ideas to convince you of an apparent value. They’re out of stock, so must be in demand right? Is it valuable because you are misinformed or actually valuable? You can see how such ideas are common in basic peer group dynamics.

This is where Mercury's trickster nature comes to the fore. In the greeks Homeric Hymns we read of the birth of Mercury. Born at Dawn, restless he cajoles a tortoise out of his shell, makes a lyre of it to seduce Apollo's cattle from him in a very pied piper sort of manner, the story even goes on to tell how the cattle walk backward out of Apollo's stables. This is reference to the deceptions that go on during Mercury retrogrades. Mercury then gives the lyre to Apollo to appease him for the theft. Modern traders and bankers can still centuries later be seen in this light.

Thinking one thing whilst doing another is an apt description of our Mercurial types. Looking deeper into their minds one gets the idea that they are actually rather edgy regards their personal value when it comes to their standing in peer groups. Hence the feature of traders crowing the prices of their goods in the markets of old. The big talker is always at an angle to impress his/her value on the peer environment.

Mercurians then become the translators in their groups, the teachers, traders, technicians and consultants. They become known and liked for their never ending observations and recollections, their gift of the gab. Similarly they are later disliked for their inability to live up to all of their claims, seemingly peddlers to the last. As in the world of advertising, last week what you had was valuable, a popular product. This week the adverts say there is something new and better out there, cajoling you apparently of your prior value. You best trade yours in for the real thing, that which your neighbor has. So it goes on. All you are left to do is leave the Mercurian to his trendy ways for one only loses steam listening to the banter through the years.

As In Gemini and Virgo types, this is evident in their apparent lack of energy for long term projects, always looking for another option or opportunity. The simple fact is that theirs is a contrasting data collecting archetype. Once all has been concluded and noted down, there is nothing for the botanist to do on the island really, other than toy with their subjects that is.
