Of Tauren Splendor,…
The Earth element signs, Taurus, Virgo and
Capricorn all follow a rather similar practical theme. Initially for Taurus
though the classic analogy is that of the Tortoise of the Hare. But as such any
earthy creature can be slotted in to replace the tortoise, a mole or a squirrel
perhaps. The tortoise I regularly use for he has this obvious shell which
symbolically appears as the earthy mound. Hence he has to move slowly as stability
is his key concept. The mole has his molehills that he constantly builds as
does the squirrel with her embodiment of this mountain/asset base, which the
earth sign is always laboriously working on.
See for Earth signs, it is all about a pile
of dirt, cash, finance, stability, resources. In the personality, this is all
about personal value and self worth. Lets finish up with the ol tortoise and
hare though first and you will see where I am heading. So the hare is
synonymous with Gemini, the wirey socialite, always on the move as the peer/sibling
group constantly shifts the goal posts. So as such the tauren issue is often
that of one’s own values versus that of the peer group. Regularly, as it is an
earthy complex, the idea further is that the tauren is working with soiled
goods. Building up this heap of soil/wealth, one day looking to have acquired a
mountain. Now we all know how hard and long one needs to persevere in order to
save a decent amount of anything really. Well then the hare is as in a TV advert
that beams across the flitting new peer group fad. Will the Tauren heads down
and keep to his task or will the bouncy peer group sidetrack them. This is
where self worth comes in, for who does the tauren value more, the self or the
group?
Regularly then we find that Earth signs are
most obviously those who keep to their tasks the latest in the day and accept
the greatest burden in their work environment. Not that they want this for
themselves, but for they assume they best perform else they surely will be
perceived as being of no real worth.
As such then yes, the mountain is about boundaries,
as Capricorn, the Mountain, is about ones skin and perimeters. I know my
boundaries hence i know my worth. Body language is of the Virgo sign so this
comes into it all too. How do I respond to others correctly that sends off the
right self worth signals? Hence keeping still is one of the most ancient or
archetypal forms of a solid defense.
To cut to the chase, here’s a regular
scenario, employer to employee. This relationship exists in many of our sibling/peer
relationships too, so you can substitute the dialogue with either of those
characters below in similar circumstance.
The employer wishes the employee to work
late or to do something beyond their job description. Agreeing to this on the
first occasion leads to a situation where the employer tends to assume this to
be the norm and becomes to expect such later on in the relationship. The
employee over time then tends to feel that their boundaries have eroded and
their ability to say no is well rendered nought. The whole self worth complex falters
here further and the individual starts to slide in various spheres of life feeling
they have little ability to keep things tight within their periphery.
The solution to such is potentially as
follows. As demand or request is made for further effort from the employee/sibling/peer.
As such, one may indeed be willing to perform such, but knowing human tendency,
one obviously needs to protect oneself. So, rejecting this request the first
few times, mentioning perhaps that you are already busy on a timeline. Note
that you do after all have your own integrity that allowed you here in the
first place. Then as such on further request, you will notice the employer is a
bit more considerate on querying your availability. At such latter point you would
rather be asked whether ‘you are able to’ as opposed to whether you will
outright. “Could you possibly fit it in?” i.e. the employer/sibling/peer now
assumes to understand that you do indeed have your own integrity besides that
of the groups/firm’s objectives.
Sounds all earthy and boring a topic
perhaps, but one would be surprised how good it feels to exercise ones true limits
in many circumstance. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush!
